The devil comes knocking, trying to shake my soul,
Bringing up my failures, saying I'm not whole.
He points at every stumble, every place I've been,
But he can't erase the blood that washed away my sin.

He tells me I'm not worthy, says I've gone too far,
But my Savior's grace reached farther than my darkest heart.
The cross settled forever what I could never do,
And every promise Jesus made I know is true.

Chorus
A gift is a gift, you can't give it back,
Jesus paid the price and there ain't nothing that I lack.
God so loved the world, He gave His only Son,
And everyone who believes in Him has already won.

The devil keeps talking, but I don't have to listen,
The cross made a way and I'm living in forgiveness.
I'm saved by grace, not by the things I do,
Jesus said it's finished—and I believe it's true!

Verse 2
He didn't rent salvation, He didn't put it on a lease,
He gave me everlasting life and filled my heart with peace.
Past sins, present sins, future sins too,
Were nailed upon that rugged cross when Jesus saw me through.

Now some folks get confused when the enemy starts to speak,
Trying to trade God's promises for something they can keep.
But if we could earn Heaven, then why did Jesus die?
The answer's in the Gospel and the reason why He cried.

But every one of us has crossed the line.
That's why Jesus came and shed His precious blood,
To rescue every sinner with His amazing love.

When Satan starts accusing and filling you with doubt,
Just point him to the empty tomb and sing this out:
